It’s time to Ranger Up with @trekkieb47, @secretrangerfan & @ZachLaVoy as they talk all things Power Rangers on the Four Eyed Radio Network with RANGER COMMAND POWER HOUR!

Trigger Warning (TW): Suicide, Death

“Hello listeners.

This is Eric from Ranger Command with a little bit of a pre-show heads up of what to expect in this episode. So, this episode is not going to be edited… or very light editing. So there may be some swears that are unbleeped, especially during the last half of this podcast – which is… interview that Joshua Aaron Moore did with Jason David Frank, who passed away over the past week.

This episode is a tribute to Jason David Frank and we are honoring him by not having our typical… uh…you won’t find an ad read. You’re not going to find an intro or an advertisement or anything like that.

So, just a heads up that if you don’t feel comfortable listening to this episode because we do talk about suicide… then, please skip this episode until you’re ready to listen to it. Until you want to pay your respects to Jason David Frank.

There are many listener stories, as well. Many listeners have shared their thoughts on JDF and I know that can open up a lot of emotions for people. So, this serves as a trigger warning (TW) not only for suicide, but also for the deep emotions that losing someone like Jason David Frank will cause.

A.P., Zach and I also discuss our feelings, and like I said, this will barely be edited. This is our raw emotions, recorded only a couple days after he passed. If you or someone you love needs help, please reach out to someone.

If you’re in the United States, the Suicide Hotline is 988. If you’re in the U.K., the Suicide Hotline is 0800 689 5652; if it’s an emergency, that’s 112. And then, if you are in New Zealand, emergency is 111 and the Suicide Hotline is 1737. You can find more suicide hotlines or more resources internationally at https://blog.opencounseling.com/suicide-hotlines/ – that’s where we got this information.

Thank you for listening and Rest in Peace, JDF.”

COMIC PREVIEW – Go Go Power Rangers Issue 25

Tomorrow, Wednesday, November 13th, Go Go Power Rangers Issue 25 will be released from Boom Studios. Below you will find a preview and review of the issue as well as the main cover and variants.

NECESSARY EVIL CONTINUES! The Secret Origin of the OMEGA RANGERS continues as Jason and the Blue Emissary search for new recruits to the ALL NEW POWER RANGER TEAM. But when Zordon and Alpha-5 go missing, Jason must choose what’s more important – his friends or protecting the universe from the fallout of SHATTERED GRID!

Host Eric (@trekkieb47) had a chance to read the issue in advance and shares his review:

“Go Go Power Rangers issue 25 starts off with Tommy Oliver after losing his Green Ranger powers. Earlier in this arc, he left the team to focus on being alone and trying to find his place. This event also happened in the show, and this issue specifically slots perfectly into the events leading up to and during ‘White Light’.

What’s great about this issue, and the Necessary Evil arc as a whole, is giving more context and background to what we have seen in the show. While the Boom! Studios comics are their own universe where events in the show still play out in a modern setting, it’s fun to imagine the events of the comic happening to the cast of the show. Want to know why Zordon and Alpha-5 initially disappeared during the events of  ‘White Light’? It’s explained with more detail in this issue.

I also enjoyed the small return of a familiar character that played an important role in Shattered Grid and less so in Beyond The Grid. It’s clear the writers are taking the opportunity to not only expand the lore of the show, but the comics as well. While readers can probably guess where the story is going because of ‘Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’, I am sure there are surprises that will make us wonder what’s in store next for Necessary Evil.”

COMIC PREVIEW – Go Go Power Rangers Issue 23

This Wednesday, September 11th,  Go Go Power Rangers Issue 23 will be released from Boom Studios. Below you will find a preview of the issue as well as the main cover and variants.

As the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers struggle to save Angel Grove from the fearsome War Bunny without Jason, the Blue Emissary forces the Red Ranger to confront surprising villains from his Shattered Grid past and shocking Necessary Evil future—kicking off the events that will result in the creation of a brand new team with a secret mission to save the galaxy—the Omega Rangers!

Host Eric (@trekkieb47) had a chance to read the issue in advance and shares his review:

“When the cover for this issue was first previewed a couple months back, it created quite the stir in Ranger Nation. Was Drakkon really returning? Would he suddenly become the main focus of the comic again? Thankfully, this issue puts that concern to rest.

There is no doubt that last year’s Shattered Grid event continues to impact the Power Ranger’s multiverse. What makes this issue great is the way revelations are handled for Jason, as well as the readers.

Go Go Power Rangers walks the fine line of explaining future events we see in Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and creating a story that works as a standalone. One can easily read both series in a chronological progression, as well as reading each issue as they come out.

In this particular issue, even though we see characters introduced from the main MMPR series, there are still a few surprises that hint at the future of that comic. Teases like that can only happen if the writers have story lines planned out well in advance. Writers Ryan Parrott & Sina Grace do this in fine fashion with the last few pages of this issue.

Necessary Evil continues to deliver with intrigue, and every month I am left wanting more. Don’t miss this issue!”

COMIC PREVIEW – Go Go Power Rangers Issue 22

This Wednesday, August 14th,  Go Go Power Rangers Issue 22 will be released from Boom Studios. Below you will find a preview of the issue as well as the main cover and variants.

Faced with the terrible consequences of a war they cannot remember, the Power Rangers are left to pick up the pieces of Shattered Grid, but the effect on the Morphing Grid may be more than they can handle. When put to the test, what will they choose—the world, or their team?

Host Eric (@trekkieb47) had a chance to read the issue in advance and shares his review:

With the cliffhanger of the last issue, readers were left wondering how Go Go Power Rangers would tie into the overall arc of Necessary Evil. After last month’s release of MMPR Issue 41, we got an answer when the Blue Emissary was revealed as the Omega Rangers’ mentor.

Much like the Shattered Grid event from last year, Go Go Power Rangers serves to give context and background for the events happening in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. It’s this duality that makes reading these comics a lot of fun.

Once again writers Ryan Parrott & Sina Grace deliver snappy dialogue and emotional weight after the events of Tommy losing his Green Ranger powers. A line about an enemy mentioned in MMPR 41 becomes the main villain for this issue of Go Go. The return of another character makes things even more interesting for one of our heroes.

Go Go Power Rangers isn’t simply a companion comic, it’s essential reading.
