An All-Star Studded Creative Team including the original Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger Available in Comic Shops August 2023.

LOS ANGELES, CA (JuLY 31, 2023) – Continuing the 30-year legacy of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, BOOM! Studios, under license by toy and game company, Hasbro, revealed today a first look at the MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS 30TH ANNIVERSARY COMIC SPECIAL.

This landmark anthology special features five brand-new stories paying homage to the legacy of the Rangers, penned by Ryan Parrott (Rogue Sun) and features Mat Groom (Inferno Girl Red), the original Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger Amy Jo Johnson and Matt Hotson (Titans), and young adult author Maria Ingrande Mora (Fragile Remedy), Mairghread Scott (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), along with current Mighty Morphin Power Rangers superstar scribe Melissa Flores (Dead Lucky).

Joining the celebration are returning fan-favorite Power Rangers artists including Hendry Prasetya, Marco Renna and Daniel Bayliss (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Eleonora Carlini (Go Go Power Rangers), Francesco Mortarino (Power Rangers),  and critically-acclaimed Jo Mi-Gyeong (Ranger Academy).

This anniversary issue is full of Morphinominal content worthy of the 30-year legacy with spotlights on Ernie in Angel Grove, Alpha 5’s struggle to find his true purpose, a mind-bending “What If?” story about Tommy’s powers that introduces an all-new alternate universe, a deeper look into Tommy’s relationship with Kat, and a dive into the Ranger Academy.

MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS 30TH ANNIVERSARY COMIC SPECIAL features a main cover by Dan Mora (Once & Future) and variants by Rian Gonzales (Batgirls), Jamal Campbell (Nightwing), Bon Bernardo (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Miguel Mercado (Go Go Power Rangers), and Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers). Along with 40 pages of brand-new action-packed material, and an additional 24 pages of classic material that fans new and old will be delighted to experience.

Currently, Power Rangers is celebrating 30 continuous years on the air, making it one of the longest-running kids’ live-action series in television history, with more than 900 episodes aired to date. Created by Haim Saban and launched in 1993 with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the series celebrates its 30th year with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, an anniversary special exclusively available on Netflix now. The 30th overall season of Power Rangers, “Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury,” will premiere this Fall  exclusively on Netflix.

BOOM! Studios and Amy Jo Johnson Give Fans a Prelude Story in the Upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 30th Anniversary Special

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Kimberly Hart offers fans a lead-in story to her upcoming series

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 25, 2023) – Due to the overwhelming positive reaction to the announcement of the upcoming Amy Jo Johnson penned comic series, BOOM! Studios and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ original Pink Ranger, Amy Jo Johnson, are offering fans a glimpse into her world of the Rangers with an 8-page prelude story, now to be included in the upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 30th Anniversary Special.

The new series was announced as part of the currently active BOOM! Direct Reserve campaign, POWER RANGERS: A 30th Anniversary Comic Book Celebration as it rocketed past the $250,000 Stretch Goal within less than 24 hours of the campaign launch. This new 8-page prelude story comes as the campaign’s $625,000 Stretch Goal.

Details on the hotly anticipated series are being kept under wraps for the time being, but more information will be made available later this year.

Amy Jo Johnson began her acting career as Kimberly Hart, the original Pink Power Ranger. For the next twenty years, she starred in a number of film and television productions, such as Susie Q, Perfect Body, Felicity, and Flashpoint. For the last ten years, she has turned her attention to behind the camera, writing and directing four short films, two feature films, and made her foray into TV directing on the CW’s Superman and Lois. Amy Jo is incredibly excited to reflect back on her time as a Ranger, and this comic book series will be a love letter to her fans and the franchise that gave her her start.

“I want to thank the faithful Power Ranger community for the love and excitement from the announcement of my up-and-coming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book series! To kick it off, BOOM! has invited us to write a short story for this summer’s upcoming anthology special, which will introduce our re-imagined world of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! Studios’ fourth campaign to do so and our second to do so this year. Currently, the POWER RANGERS: A 30th Anniversary Comic Book Celebration is sitting at $582,620 with the campaign closing at 1:10pm PST on Thursday, April 27, 2023

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’ Kimberly Hart joins the publisher in celebrating 30 years of Power Rangers storytelling

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 31, 2023) – BOOM! Studios’ newest BOOM! Direct Reserve campaign, POWER RANGERS: A 30th Anniversary Comic Book Celebration, has sped past the $250,000 Stretch Goal mark in less than 24 hours unlocking a new series announcement. BOOM! Studios is thrilled to announce that original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast member Amy Jo Johnson, along with co-writer Matt Hotson are writing a brand new Power Rangers series!

Amy Jo Johnson began her acting career as Kimberly Hart, the original Pink Power Ranger. When Matt Hotson saw his first comic book (G.I. Joe Special Missions #22) at the impressionable young age of four, he was blown away that someone had made a Saturday morning kids show he could take with him wherever he went. Since then, he’s read way too many comics, and worked as an assistant director on TV shows like DC’s Titans (and a bunch of other ones that didn’t have any superheroes in them for some reason). Now he co-writes Power Rangers comic books with Amy Jo Johnson, so he can take a Saturday morning kids show with him wherever he goes.
