After a devastating loss to the enemy, Kimberly and the remaining Power Rangers must rally their remaining forces in a final stand against Lord Drakkon’s cruel world-ending contingency plan. With their powers broken and warriors scattered far and wide, there’s only one way to save their people from an enemy bent on total destruction but will it mean the end of the Power Rangers in the Coinless Universe? Or will the surprise appearance of THE SHATTERED turn the tide?

Currently, Power Rangers is celebrating 27 continuous years on the air, making it one of the longest running kids’ live-action series in television history with nearly 900 episodes aired to date. NEWS – Hasbro PulseCon 2020 Power Rangers Reveals

Hasbro just wrapped two successful days of its first-ever virtual convention, Hasbro PulseCon, hosted by Jackie Jennings, SYFY Wire on-air correspondent, writer, and producer. The con was action-packed, featuring musical guests and engaging concert experiences from Fallout Boy, Lights and Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D, several appearances by the energetic John Cena who moderated a live Q&A with Tenacious D and served as judge of the cosplay contest, as well as a live Q&A with Fall Out Boy which closed out the event.

For Power Rangers, the brand team panel gave first-looks at the Retro-Morphin Figures and Zeo Megazord, along with a number of Lightning Collection products like the new wave of figures and Metallic Pink Ranger, with sneak peeks at the Monsters and Versus 2-Packs.

Moderated by Andre Meadows of “Black Nerd Comedy,” the entertainment panel reunited the cast of Power Rangers Beast Morphers – Rorrie Travis, Jackie Scislowski, Jazz Baduwalia, Abe Rodriguez, Colby Strong and Liana Ramirez– as they talked about filming, life as Rangers and the importance diversity and inclusion play in the Power Rangers franchise. Fun clips were shown including one with fellow castmates Cosme Flores and Kristina Ho, a hilarious bloopers reel and a Dino crossover sneak-peek. The panel – and overall PulseCon brand programming – ended on an epic note as the Power Rangers Dino Fury sneak-peek clip took the screen, followed by an exclusive cast reveal of the Red, Pink and Blue Dino Fury Rangers!

On Wednesday, September 30th, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue 54 will be released from Boom Studios.

While the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers battle Lord Zedd’s DARK RANGERS, the Omega Rangers come face to face with an all new enemy – one that threatens to destroy all life in the galaxy… and already has a head start!

Host Eric (@trekkieb47) had a chance to read the issue in advance and shares his review:

“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 54 is the penultimate issue to the long running comic series from BOOM! Studios before the series splits off into two new series. This issue, entitled “A New Evil”, continues the Omega Rangers story from the cliffhanger in Issue 52. And this is an all Omega issue, taking cue from earlier points in the Necessary Evil run. 

For one, I am actually glad that the book is splitting into two new ongoing series. The back and forth worked for events like Shattered Grid and Necessary Evil, but now both teams have their own stories to tell, which is becoming much larger than one series can contain. Skipping an entire month of either side of the story has run its course. 

And this issue has a lot of Omega Ranger action, with their full powers on display against a deadly new threat. Can these Rangers ever get a break? Not anytime soon apparently. How will the series conclude next month? What kinds of shakeups will happen to split the series into two new books? This issue sets up a lot, but the next has some pretty big shoes to fill to satisfy longtime readers.”

NEWS – Final Power Rangers Battle For The Grid Season 3 character revealed!

Today nWay teased the next upcoming character for Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid and one could say she’s….got some sting to her. That’s right – fan-favorite and iconic villainess Scorpina is headed to the game as the last character for Season 3!

Scorpina will join the fight on December 8th as the final DLC in the Season 3 Pass.

The ruthless minion of Rita Repulsa and fighting partner of Goldar, Scorpina has repeatedly proven to be one of the Ranger’s most dangerous opponents. But just what kind of fighting style will Scorpina bring to the game? Expect more details and a full gameplay trailer the closer we get to her official release in the game. Until then, check out the short teaser video and screenshots.

And don’t forget – Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid Collector’s Edition on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One will be available at retail on October 13th for $29.99. Pre-order is now available at major game retailers, including Amazon and Gamestop. Those who pre-order will receive two copies of the Green Ranger V2 skin — one for themselves and one to give to a friend.

Finally, Lauren Shiba the Red Samurai Ranger, was added to the roster last week. Sweet, tough and kind-hearted, Lauren Shiba took over the role of Red Samurai Ranger momentarily and led the team against Nighlok. Lauren spent her life mastering the sealing symbol in secret, while her younger brother Jayden led the Samurai Rangers until her return. After Lauren used the Sealing Symbol on Master Xandred, she relinquished her leadership role back to Jayden to finish the fight.

Lauren Shiba’s combat style is heavily influenced by traditional samurai sword fighting. From dashing in for close combat with her to her quick jab attack using the butt of her sword, this Red Samurai Ranger proves to be a threat even with and without her weapon drawn. In addition to her Samuraizer Sword techniques, Lauren will be the most agile ranger to enter the Grid thanks to her special dash mechanic and double jumps.

Players will be able to digitally purchase Lauren Shiba on the PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, Microsoft Store, Steam and Stadia for $5.99 or alternatively purchase the game’s Season Pass at $14.99 which includes Lauren Shiba, RJ, and Scorpina. The Season Pass also includes the exclusive Phantom Beast King skin for Dai Shi.

COMIC PREVIEW – Drakkon New Dawn Issue 2

On Wednesday, September 23rd, POWER RANGERS: Drakkon New Dawn Issue 2 will be released from Boom Studios.

Still reeling from the shocking discovery held deep in the heart of Drakkon’s prison tower; Deadlock, Kimberly unknowingly triggers Drakkon’s final failsafe, sending a message deep into space that will ultimately put Kimberly face to face with an enemy even more powerful than Lord Drakkon himself. Will the Unknown Ranger she freed help her – or stand against her?

Host Eric (@trekkieb47) had a chance to read the issue in advance and shares his review:

“We are now in the mid-point of the Drakkon New Dawn mini-series and things are moving pretty quickly. Right off the bat we find out the identity of the Unknown Ranger (spoilers in the preview). Personally, I enjoy that this is not a mystery that lasts until the end of the series. As this issue progresses, there are far bigger threats to the world of the Coinless.

The Coinless World, and the alternate future timeline it resides in, continues to be a fascinating look into the future of the Power Rangers if they lost. And nowhere is that more apparent than this issue. With the threat of a new evil from space, both the Coinless and the Sentry forces need guidance from Kimberly. But with the identity of the Unknown Ranger, and more of his backstory revealed, we find that Kimberly continues to face difficult decisions with no easy solution.

What does it mean to be a leader? Writer Anthony Burch makes it clear that it is a difficult path that will be full of sacrifices and compromise. The issue is nicely paced, balancing character moments and action throughout with two major settings. With artist Simone Ragazzoni, this balance is achieved through more traditional panel layouts for the exposition heavy first half, and gorgeous, sprawling spreads for the action in the second half.

Next month, the miniseries concludes and I am excited to see what big guns are pulled out for the finale. Part of me hopes that this is not the last time we see Ranger Slayer or the Coinless, but if it is… I hope the next issue delivers!”

Joe, Magic: The Gathering, Power Rangers, Transformers as well as premiere partner brands Marvel, Star Wars™, Ghostbusters, and more will be featured in an exhilarating panel and activity lineup that spans two days, giving fans a livestream experience to celebrate with special guests, receive exclusive access to exciting brand reveals, purchase Hasbro PulseCon merch, and participate with interactive elements such as live Q&A, trivia and even virtual ‘ghost hunting’ in celebration of National Ghost Hunting Day! For every viewer of Hasbro PulseCon, Hasbro will donate a toy or game to Toys for Tots up to 100,000 pieces. Through the gift of a new toy, Marine Toys for Tots helps bring hope and joy to America’s less fortunate children.

While the 2-day virtual event hosted by SYFY Wire on-air correspondent, writer, and producer, Jackie Jennings, begins on September 25, fans can expect a few fun surprises leading up to that date – including an advance sneak peek on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube Channel September 22 at 12pm EST. In addition, Hasbro and eOne are thrilled to be launching a PulseCon Spotify list which will be available on Friday 25th and consists of a number of songs from eOne artists, including The Lumineers, Powfu, Brandy, Alice Ivy and Lights.

Programming takes place on Friday, 9/25 at 11am EST and Saturday, 9/26 at 10am EST, with each day ending around 5pm EST for exciting musical experiences with its lineup of artists.

 

Musical Guests

Tune-in for unique musical experiences from top billing artists Fall Out Boy, Lights and Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D throughout Hasbro’s 2-day virtual pop culture event, Hasbro PulseCon. You can expect energetic musical moments starting with Lights closing out Day 1 on Friday, 9/25. Then, on Day 2 on Saturday, 9/26 a Tenacious D concert will take place at 1:30pm EST, where attendees can watch them perform and participate in a live Q&A hosted by John Cena! Finally, Hasbro PulseCon will come to a close on Saturday evening with a special performance from Fall Out Boy.

Join Magic: The Gathering head designer Mark for a special PulseCon panel, where he’ll discuss behind-the-scenes stories and details about the newest Magic card set, Zendikar Rising. From the origins of the set’s design and the beginnings of his favorite set mechanics to the history of the fan-favorite world of Zendikar, this live event is the best place for exclusive insight on how Magic’s latest set was created. Moderated by Wizards of the Coast’s Blake, the panel will also include a short virtual Q&A for any burning questions about Zendikar Rising.

Joe Manganiello (actor, director, writer, producer) will give players of all skill levels his advice on how to be a great Dungeon Master.
