LOS ANGELES, CA (July 19, 2024) – What’s better than a POWER RANGERS anthology? How about a POWER RANGERS anthology filled with stories written by your favorite POWER RANGERS actors?! BOOM! Studios, in collaboration with leading toy and game company Hasbro, is thrilled to present POWER RANGERS: ACROSS THE MORPHIN GRID, an anthology of stories written by David Yost, Walter Jones, Steve Cardenas, Mat Groom, Nakia Burrise, JD Sutphin, and Meghan Camerena about their respective Rangers with art by Paulina Ganucheau, Tango, Patrick Mulholland, Domo Stanton, and Anand Ramcheron!
“A true honor to work with all the talented people at BOOM! Studios and to be asked to write a story based on my character, Billy. I had so much fun imagining where Billy would be at 28 years old. I trust fans will enjoy my story and all the various stories being told in this anthology. Let’s GoGo!” said David Yost.
“I’m so excited that BOOM! Studios is expanding the Morphin Grid Anthology, and it looks like I’m next on the list! I’ve had the great privilege in the past to briefly work with BOOM! About Rocky and his background. But now to have the opportunity to create and collab and tell my own story is just a dream come true for me,” said Steve Cardenas. “I hope you enjoy what Mat and I came up with as a part of this new chapter!”
“What ever happened to Tanya and Adam?” teased Nakia Burrise.
“As someone who as a child watched the first episode of Mighty Morphin live when it debuted; the Power Rangers have meant the world to me for over 30 years! BOOM! continues to cherish their legacy and validate the fans with incredible stories and phenomenal art that these characters deserve,” said JD Sutphin. “To be able to add a little to their world is so truly meaningful and a full circle moment for me that I’ll never take for granted.”
“Who doesn’t love a Hyperforce burrito?!” said Meghan Camarena. “Chloe’s Chaos Kitchen has Chloe, accompanied by Sous Chef Vesper, cooking up some tasty and wild times. I had such an amazing time writing it and I hope it fills your hearts and bellies with big, out loud laughs.”
This epic, oversized issue will feature a main cover by Ejikure (Wild’s End), along with variant covers by Riley Rossmo (Martian Manhunter), Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), and Matt Taylor.
“Working on this short with Meghan has been pure joy and is such a bucket list project,” said artist Paulina Ganucheau. “I’ve loved Power Rangers my whole life so finally getting the chance to draw some comic pages, and adorable hilarious Pink Ranger starring pages at that, has been a dream!”
“This project was a childhood dream come true,” said artist Domo. “When I was a kid, I used to pretend to be the Black Ranger; now actually getting the opportunity to work with Walter Jones is just next level awesome.”
“It’s been both a nostalgia trip and exciting new ground to be able to work on this small glimpse into Tanya’s future as a seasoned Ranger,” said artist Tango. “And giving those nods to some of those relationships so core to her character.”
“I am very grateful to be back in the grid with the Power Rangers,” said artist Patrick Mulholland. “And who better to tell a personal story about the Blue Ranger than Billy Cranston himself, David Yost!”

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 20, 2024) – In celebration of the monumental 40th anniversary of Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo, BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse Comics, and Hasbro invite fans to discover the match made in crossover heaven with the MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS/USAGI YOJIMBO one-shot! Written by veteran Power Rangers scribe Ryan Parrott, illustrated by Shawn Daley (Ogre), and colored by James Fenner (Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Shapeshifters), the crossover between the Ronin Rabbit and everyone’s favorite teenagers with attitude hits shelves September 2024.
During a routine Rita Repulsa attack, the Rangers’ morphers do something unexpected…by hurling them back to the Edo era of Japan!
Upon arriving at their historic destination, the mysterious Ogasawara begs the Rangers for their help. But the enemy they face isn’t what they were expecting…and our band of heroes will have to face a painful revelation if they want to save the day and return home.
“I’m really excited with Usagi’s crossover with the Power Rangers,” said comics legend Stan Sakai. “This is the first time Usagi has teamed up with real superheroes (that do not have shells)! It’s a great story with fantastic art!”
“I think one of the most exciting elements of comics is the unexpected crossover, so when BOOM! Studios asked me if I was interested in pairing the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with Usagi Yojimbo, I didn’t hesitate,” said veteran Power Rangers scribe Ryan Parrott. “I’ve been a fan of Stan Sakai’s work and the epic story he’s been telling my whole life, so it was a true honor to get to step into that world and play with those characters. Plus, the moment I saw Shawn Daley’s artwork, I knew this had the potential to be an insanely fun, one of a kind ride that hopefully both Ranger and Samurai fans will enjoy.”
This epic, oversized issue will feature a main cover by Taurin Clarke (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), along with variant covers by the incomparable Stan Sakai with colors by Emi Fujii, Jared Cullum (Usagi Yojimbo: Ice and Snow), Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return), and Takeshi Miyazawa (Mech Cadets)!
“Some characters feel destined to cross paths, and I hadn’t realized how much I needed this team-up until I was asked to help bring it to life,” said artist Shawn Daley. “Stan Sakai’s legendary work was a formative introduction to comics for me, and as a lifelong fan of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the combination hits hard. That’s in no small part to Ryan’s incredibly fun script, which has been a privilege to draw. I also got to use my original Power Rangers figures for reference material–an artist’s dream come true!”
MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS/USAGI YOJIMBO #1 will be available in comic shops September 25, 2024. It is available for pre-order at your local comic shop. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including Kindle, iBooks, and Google Play.
