The Rangers’ DARKEST HOUR Goes BACK TO PRINT September 2023

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 15, 2023) – BOOM! Studios, under license by leading toy and game company Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), announced today MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS #111, the beginning of the DARKEST HOUR event, taking place after the bold and greatly anticipated Reunited, Recharged era of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with a superstar creative lineup of writer Melissa Flores (Power Rangers, The Dead Lucky), artist Simona Di Gianfelice (Firefly), colorist Raúl Angulo (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and letterer Ed Dukeshire (The Woods, Irredeemable) in the kickoff of this monumental 12-month event, has sold out at the distributor level!

Mistress Vile has won, or so it seems, with control of the Grid and Dark Specter’s infections spreading through the universe! The Rangers are presented with the impossible choice of saving either their friend or the universe against  Dark Specter and find themselves separated and stranded until they receive help from the last team they’d expect, but not be the help they were hoping for.

In the tradition of Shattered Grid and perfectly timed with the 30th anniversary of Power Rangers, writer Melissa Flores and Simona Di Gianfelice kick off the event they’ve been building toward for the last year that will forever change the Power Rangers universe. 

In response to the overwhelming support from retailers and fans, BOOM! Studios has announced MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS #111 SECOND PRINTING, featuring brand new cover art by legendary artist Dan Mora (Once & Future), available in stores September 13, 2023.

13-year-old Sage lives on an isolated lunar colony with her adoptive father, but her days on the farm will change forever when she comes across a wreckage with wounded passengers, people from an academy training to be something called… POWER RANGERS. For the first time, discover the amazing school where Rangers are made!

 

Maria Ingrande Mora (they/she) is a content designer and Florida native. Their queer YA debut, Fragile Remedy, was selected as Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection. Jo Mi-Gyeong is a comic artist living in Seoul, South Korea. She’s an artist on the EVE series for BOOM! Studios. She’s also participated in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance comics for BOOM! Studios, Beastlands for Dark Horse Comics, and the storyboards of STAR-CROSSED comics for Riot Games.

“Creating the details of this new world for Ranger Academy was a lot of fun for me. LOS ANGELES, CA (July 13, 2023) – BOOM! Studios announced today the exclusive items available for purchase at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2023 (Booth #2229) from July 19-23rd at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA.

This year, BOOM! Studios has partnered with Pinfinity to make limited edition blind boxes of AR Enhanced pins for seminal series Mech Cadets and Something is Killing the Children. The flagship exclusive for this year is a new re-imagining of the often homaged Something Is Killing The Children #1 by none other than series co-creator Werther Dell’Edera on Something is Killing the Children Pen & Ink #1, featuring in-depth commentary from Dell’Edera.
