In our second commentary track episode, our hosts do some drinking while watching “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie“. 20 years ago to the day (June 30th, 1995) the MMPR movie captured our imaginations as children, so how does it stand up today?

There’s no doubt that the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers Megazord is iconic. Over the years, this toy has been produced multiple times in different incarnations. Even this year we’ve got the Imaginext version, a reissue of last year’s Legacy version and an upcoming Black and Gold Edition.
Now, Saban Brands has tasked Ranger Nation to help them induct nominate the iconic Power Rangers Megazord for the National Toy Hall of Fame!
Every year the National Toy Hall of Fame inducts two classic toys that have continuously delighted both younger and older generations. And what toy is more LEGENDARY than the Power Rangers Megazord? This toy was truly the first of its kind and has continued to be a fan-favorite, reinvigorated with each new Power Rangers theme over the past 22 years.
Saban Brands is asking the Power Force and all of Ranger Nation to work together to cement the Megazord’s place in toy history at the November 2015 National Toy Hall of Fame induction.

In honor of Father’s Day, Saban Brands’ partner, Netflix revealed that U.S. dads have voted Power Rangers as one of the top shows they most look forward to introducing to their kids! Check out the full list in the infographic below.
These nostalgic TV showshold special meaning to us all and have left a mark on dads who now feel a fatherly responsibility to keep alive the stories and pop culture references from their childhoods. The Netflix research also discovered that introducing a classic show, like Power Rangers, to their children helps dads feel like kids again and can also teach valuable life lessons in the process.
This Father’s Day, Netflix celebrates Dad with the superheroes, action-packed adventures and crazy cartoons of his youth. Go Go Dads!
